Frequently asked questions
What counts as a business day?
A business day is any weekday (Monday to Friday by default) that is not a public holiday. The exact definition varies by country and contract. Use the workweek toggle to match your specific situation.
Are start and end dates included in the count?
By default the start date is excluded and the end date is included, matching the convention used in payment terms (e.g., Net-30) and delivery windows. Check "Include start date" in the options to change this.
Which countries are supported?
France (11 jours fériés), United States (11 federal holidays), United Kingdom (England & Wales bank holidays), Germany (9 national holidays), and Canada (10 federal holidays). You can also add custom dates for any region.
How far ahead can I calculate?
The calculator handles any date range. Holiday generation covers past and future years dynamically using rules-based algorithms, so it works for any year without hardcoded data.
How does the Excel WORKDAY equivalent work?
The "Add days to a date" mode is equivalent to Excel's WORKDAY function. Enter a start date and a number of business days to get the end date, with weekends and holidays automatically skipped.
